Pete's Refreshing Fizzy Summer Tea
Get a whole bunch of fresh mint and lemon verbena and
tear up the leaves. Pour hot water over the leaves,
add some good honey until it's a bit too sweet, and
steep for 20 minutes. Allow to cool. When the tea is
cool put some ice in a glass and fill it halfway with
sparkling mineral water then fill the rest of the
glass with your tea. garnish with a sprig of lemon
verbena and a little wheel of lemon. Sit by the pool
or what have you, and be refreshed!
David's French Green Beans
Two big handfuls of nice green beans, washed and dried
with the ends pinched off
Enough olive to just cover the bottom of a large frying pan
3 cloves of garlic
Kosher salt
Cover the bottom of a large frying pan with olive and
get it relatively hot over medium heat (so that a drop of
water snaps but doesn't splatter)
Crush, peel and mince the garlic
Toss in the garlic and when the instant searing sound
dies off (20-30 seconds), toss in the beans
Cover the pan and toss the beans with the oil garlic
mixture
Cook covered over medium low heat until the beans are
at your desired crunch level
Salt to taste
Pretty much anything cooked like this will be a
success. Green beans are just my particular favorite.
ABBY
Kale that I like
1 bunch kale chopped
Directions: steam kale in pan, sauté 1/2 onion with
as much garlic as you like in olive oil. Then mix in some
fresh lemon juice and a spoonful of Tahini. If this is too
thick add more olive oil. Add a splash or two of soy sauce.
Pour over kale and eat it all up.
